A Brief History of The Conicelli Autoplex and our Family |
Dom Conicelli was born and raised in Conshohocken, PA. He graduated from Villanova University in 1954, and began his career with General Motors. In 1957, he started his own business called Hy-Speed Auto Sales. In 1963, the name was changed to Carriage Trade Auto Auction, which is still in operation today.
Since its founding in 1982, the Conicelli Autoplex has expanded until now to comprise Honda, Toyota, Scion, Nissan, and Hyundai, plus Conicelli Toyota Scion of Springfield PA.
The Conicellis actively participate in community events.
On April 22, 2007, Conicelli employees played an exhibition basketball game and raised $500 for The Pathway School of Norristown. The Pathway School serves special needs children.
During March, Conicelli employees hosted a visit by the Red Cross Bloodmobile and donated blood.
Last December, 2006, Conicelli friends and family members personally wrapped and delivered 2 truckloads of gifts from the family, employees, and friends of Conicelli Autoplex to The Children's Aid Society of Norristown. The gifts were collected as part of the 2006 Conicelli Autoplex Holiday Charity Drive. The Conicellis also presented the Society with a $2,000 cash donation.
During the last 12 months Conicelli sponsorships and gifts have benefited numerous local organizations such as the Salvation Army, the Norristown PAL, the Main Line Heart Center, Saint Eleanor's Auction, and Mary Mother of the Redeemer 20th Anniversary Auction.
Many members of the extended Conicelli family are actively involved in managing and operating the family-owned business.
